Due to the pandemic of 2020, marketers all over the world were forced to change how they do their job. These changes aren’t temporary though, they will forever change how marketing is done. The older way of doing things will likely not be counted on anymore. Obviously a lot of this is done through phones and computers now do to people being stuck at home for such an extended period of time.
One of the biggest new trends will be that customers will expect you to have exactly what they want, not just hope that you have it. This will force companies to do much more research on buyer behavior than just generalizing a population. Another truth will be that your brand should be based off of great value over great product. Post pandemic buying trends changed when consumers began to switch to many off brand products. Some of this has to do with the cost going down, and some of it has to do with larger brands having bad PR and smaller brands being considered more socially charismatic.
The point to all of this is marketing has and will continue to change in this post pandemic world. It will be interesting to see what companies can keep up and which companies will struggle to adjust.
